We are proud to announce that we have been awarded just over £350,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.
This new National Lottery funding will fund the new Brighter Futures education, employment and training project. It will start on 1st Jan 2023 and will be a little different from the current one.
We will use the funding to work with anyone aged 16+ with no upper age limit and we will also work with people who are employed but may be struggling in their current roles. We will also be part of the Skills City initiative that will be based at Gulliver’s Valley (towards the end of 2023), working with young people and their families there to raise their aspirations and support them with education, employment and training.
National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.
CEO Rachael Wilson said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can continue to support Rotherham people, particularly those furthest from the job market with their training and employment aspirations. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
During the pandemic, in 2020 alone, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and community organisations across the UK.
