Recently, our Registered Service Manager, Steve, completed the Knife Crime Reduction training delivered through NASAP. Those on the training heard from Andrea Parkinson, who works as a Violence Reduction Officer for Wigan Council. It was fantastic to hear her insight. Steve has now taken the pledge to commit to the prevention of knife crime with #LetsBeBlunt through switching to blunt-end knives across our accommodations. Hi, I’m Rachael, CEO of Rush House 👋 I started my journey with Rush in 2009 as a Team Leader and became CEO in 2016. I absolutely love the variety my role brings each day—from developing strategic plans and working on funding applications to championing the voices of the people we support across different platforms. Alongside my role at Rush, I’m proud to Chair the Rotherham Children, Young People and Families Consortium and be part of the RDASH Communities Leadership Executive. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending quality time with my grandchildren, enjoying walks in the countryside, or practicing flow yoga 🌿

Sweet Success in the Kitchen! Our young people have been busy baking with our Life Skills team and created this absolutely beautiful Biscoff and vanilla cheesecake! From carefully mixing the ingredients to adding the finishing touches, they showed fantastic teamwork, creativity, and baking skills throughout the process. The result? A deliciously creamy vanilla cheesecake with a rich Biscoff flavour and a perfectly crumbly biscuit base. We're so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and confidence our young people demonstrated today. Activities like these are a great way to develop practical life skills while having fun and enjoying the rewards of their hard work. Well done to everyone involved—you've baked a masterpiece!

Creativity for Wellbeing Art is more than something we make—it’s a way to pause, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves. We believe that creativity can play an important role in supporting wellbeing. Whether it’s painting, drawing, crafting, writing, or simply exploring your imagination, creative activities offer space to slow down, express thoughts and feelings, and enjoy moments of calm. There’s no right or wrong way to be creative. The process itself can help build confidence, encourage mindfulness, and provide a positive outlet from the pressures of everyday life. By promoting art and creativity, we aim to create opportunities for people to: ✨ Express themselves freely ✨ Explore their imagination ✨ Experience moments of calm and focus ✨ Connect with others through shared creative experiences ✨ Support their overall wellbeing Sometimes the most meaningful part of creating isn’t the finished piece—it’s the joy, peace, and sense of possibility found along the way.
