Big cooking energy at Rush recently! We spent an afternoon with our young people learning how to make a healthy pizza totally from scratch, dough, sauce, toppings, the lot. The best bit? Watching everyone get stuck in, try new things and realising they can create something delicious and nutritious on a budget. Sessions like this aren’t just about food… they’re about confidence, independence and having a laugh together while picking up skills for real life. And honestly, the pizzas were chef’s kiss. Proud of everyone who rolled, chopped, stirred and tasted their way through the workshop. Can’t wait for the next one! #LifeSkills #CookingFromScratch #YoungPeople #Rush #HealthyEating #BuildingIndependence

Huge shoutout to Corner Kitchen Rotherham for donating sweets and chocolates for our young people this Christmas 🍬 They will go down almost as well as a bacon an PEWERK butty. Jokes aside, this was such a kind thing to do. Little acts like this genuinely make a big difference, and our young will feel the love. Thank you for supporting them and the work we do, we appreciate it more than you know ❤️ Proper community spirit and we’re very grateful. For anybody who might be visiting our page for the first time, at Rush House we are a chartible organisation offering supported accommodation for homeless young people aged 16-25. We also provide a range of services to the wider Rotherham community including our EET services. There’s something special about stepping into the countryside — that quiet space where the noise drops away and your mind finally gets a breather. 🌿✨ Walking outdoors isn’t just “getting some fresh air.” It’s grounding. It’s a moment to slow down, reconnect, and let your thoughts settle. For many of the young people we support, taking time for a simple walk has become a powerful part of their self-care toolkit — a chance to find calm, notice the small things, and remember they’re stronger than they think. We recently enjoyed a visit to Thrybergh Country Park to engage in a mindful walk. Whether it’s a quick stroll or a longer wander, the countryside has a way of reminding us that it’s okay to pause. That looking after yourself matters. And that peace is something you can build, step by step. Let’s keep encouraging each other to get outside, breathe deep, and make space for our wellbeing.
